EDISON GOWER
The Shelf Life of Butterflies
(Release Date: late October/early November)
This is the brand new, full-length, final album from this inde-pop three-piece from Hollywood, California.
The band has finally hit upon their signature sound with The Shelf Life of Butterflies. This is a real solid album with a collection of great pop/rock songs. There are also lots of twists and turns along the way. It's an album full or surprises that you might not expect from Edison Gower as well as familiar sounds that are signature Edison Gower.
The album opens with the ambient-like sounds of Potential/Kinetic and busts right into the rocking guitar riff of In The Attic. Keeping the momentum up, the album takes you into the driving pop/rock song, Show Me. The album doesn't slow down there, it then carries you into the up-tempo pop song, Infantile. Finally you get a breather as it slows you down a bit with the dream-like sounds of Goodnight only to wake you up out of your dreams with the Rocking What's On Your Mind?.
This album is a rock album with some nice mellow numbers thrown in to allow you to catch your breath. The Shelf Life of Butterflies is a very solid album and a great final album from this amazing band from Hollywood. |

BENVOLIO
Lighter Black EP
(now available in the store)
Indie newcomer Ben Willson's solo effort benvolio 's sound hails from such renowned acts as Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five, Death Cab for Cutie, and Coldplay. His music is played through the moods and emotions he wants them to depict; more often than not, they depict a dark but warm atmosphere -- just the sort of "Lighter Black" for which he has chosen to name his first EP. |
